What does this mean for me at my appointment?
What happens in your annual screening appointment will not change. Your screening appointment invites and results will continue to be sent to you and your GP as before.
You will continue to have your appointments at local community clinics, health
centres and GP surgeries. We aim to retain the existing screening locations but will also introduce greater choice; we will make a list of the locations available to you on the dedicated DESP web page www.BSWdesp.info. This information can also be sent to you as a letter - you can request this by contacting the appointment booking team.
Any appointments that have been made by your current provider for after 1 April 2017 will be completed as usual, so please still attend at the stated time and venue.
How will I make or change my appointment after 1 April 2017?
There will be a central booking line for making or changing appointments; you can find the new contact details on the next page. Any calls regarding your screening will be forwarded to the new booking line.
The new service will use a closed booking system. This means your dedicated administration team will book you an appointment based on your last screening date and historical appointment preferences. If this information is not available, you will be assigned an appointment at a venue closest to your home address or at your GP’s address. You can change your appointment very easily by contacting the booking team over the phone, via email or posting a letter.
After 1 April 2017, if you need to change your appointment please use the new BaNES & Wiltshire DESP details below.
